"whoever that was I met years ago is not the girl I'm sitting next to right now"
Ivy believed that. She'd improved so much over the years, the most growth concentrated in the last few months. She finally sort of knew who she was and what she wanted out of life. Who was important to her and what was important to her. And making friends with Chris seemed like a good thing to do. Sure they were ex's--don't that they'd ever really dated. And sure they weren't sharing a kid. But he was a part of what made her her.
Ivy just smiled at him kindly. He remembered her birthday, and she couldn't even remember how old he was.
"Well, still." She said, still fairly flattered.

Chris knew it was true the girl that was sitting with him on the park bench was someone he had not met in California the girl who had offered him thrill for a night. Ivy was now just about his only friend in New York, that was about what she equaled to at the moment he hoped they would stay friends. He liked her, not in the like like sense but in the fact that she was a nice girl and she really impressed him with how she had turned her life around. Christian wanted to surround himself with good people and that was exactly what he had set out to do and now he sat there with the girl no one would expect to be like that. He was proud to say even if people did not see her that way that she was one of the nicest girls he had met in New York.
Christian could not exactly say there were ex's that had ended on good terms but that was sort of what he saw he guessed? He was not sure, not that it really mattered that much anymore, all he knew was that she was a good person now, she was someone he wanted to be around. Remembering things were his talent, he even knew his mothers birthday regardless of the fact that she had passed away. "When people are young we do stupid things, we have to grow up sometimes" he did not mean it to sound depressing as most did about getting older. You could still have a good time it was just a bit different you had the tendency to do smarter things "you'll be a good mother and your kids going to turn out wonderful".

"Thanks, it's good one of us thinks so." Ivy said looking down and putting a hand on her stomach. "And really, I'm still making those mistakes, i'm just a little smarter now. I haven't fixed it all completely." But she was so much better than she had been then. Still a party girl, but she was in an honest to god relationship, despite its bumps, and she cared about others. She'd never been a bitch because she just hated people. she was better than most people thought.
ooc-sorry its so short.

Laughing and smiling he looked at her "you should think it to, after all you don't seem to treat motherhood as a chore, you want to do it" he said looking at her. "That is a admirable quality, you want to have this child and you want to raise it as your own" he wanted her to feel good about all of this even if it was not her plan. "Well yes mistakes no matter what your age will be here" he said with a smile towards her. Ivy should feel good about this as long as everything turned out the way it should, as long as her boyfriend did not leave her which he hoped the guy would stay around for her. Not that she could not handle being a single mom but being a single mom would be hard especially the harsh truth that people did not like pregnant models at least that was what most of them said. Ivy smiled at him. 'Yeah, i do wanna raise it, I want the chance to show that I'm more responsible than everyone says, I do like kids, I just.... I don't know." No one would have guessed she liked kids, she didn't show it, but how could you explain why you were the way you were? But he was right, mistakes or not, she was trying and that was worth it.
"So how's New York treating you? Do you still not like it?" He seemed so sad, so quiet, but maybe he always was that way, she just had never noticed.

Listening she really did sound like she wanted this which was a good thing after all most young mothers never really wanted to have a kid after all that just made things hard. "It's different being around someone else's kid for a couple of hours then being around your own kid is different" he said shrugging his shoulders. That's what people said all the time when people would say that the kid was so cute all the time, of course they never lived with them. They never had to deal with the crying and screaming, even if you were around it all you had to do was listen to it really it was not your child after all so you never exactly had to react to it that much. Smiling he gave a small shake of his head "it's been nice to me I've ran, literally" he said running a hand threw his hair "into a few people but it's a lot better then I expected" he paused "I guess I didn't like it that much at first because it was the place my mom loved" he said looking out at the park "reminders of her sometimes just seem to kill me but I never knew her".

His mother must have died in childbirth or something, which was pretty rare these days. but she could understand why that would make you hate a place. On the other hand though, if your mother you never knew loved it, then you loving it too would be a connection to her, something you had in common.
"How's the company doing?" Ivy wasn't sure why she wanted the focus off her so badly.

Christian was not all that sure what he wanted to feel towards this city, or why he wanted to feel it but he just wished by now that he could decide. Problem was his father made him jump around so much it was hard to convince yourself that getting attached to something is good. Chris had always had a bit of a problem with that he guessed, never knowing where the road was going to take you, even if you would still be in the same place you were at this very second. "The company" he took a pause for a moment "it's been going really well it's just everyone who comes in looking for the miracle break...sound the same" he knew it sort of sounded mean about it. "All of them have learned to blend in with everyone in else, the world has told them individualism is bad so of course they often leave if off the path of success" he sighed "it's sad to see but I have a assistant who I hope I can train into doing my job".

Ivy listened patiently to what he was saying. he of course, was right, conformity was praised, but you had to stand out to get noticed, then you were supposed to conform again once you had the spotlight. Very confusing.
"Training him to do your job so you can go act?" Ivy prompted She hadn't forgotten that was what he wanted to do. He needed to shoot for the stand stand up and be counted, every other cliche like that in the book. he needed to do something, make a future, not matter what it looked like.

Christian never believed that, he believed that threw it all you should stand out in the crowd and not melt back into what you never wanted to be in. At least he had never wanted to be known after all it was annoying to have his pictures taken and all that, it was just complicated and he hated complicated. Though he was never a jerk to the paparazzi some of them were pretty nice when they wanted to be that was other times they were eh. When he heard the question he nodded and smiled "it'll give me more time to focus on that naturally" he said, sounding a bit happy about it after all he really did like to act even when he was younger that was just what he did. "I've been looking over scripts a lot more now lately" he said looking around the park a bit, he had not done much of that earlier "I'm rather excited though in all honesty, just to finally do what I want even if I still think that statement sounds a bit selfish".

"Its not selfish to live your dreams. And if it is, a little selfishness is a good thing, otherwise you'd let people walk all over you, which isn't good either. As wil most things in life, balance is what you need." Ivy said. Not like she'd always lived by that philosophy, but she sure did believe it. And figured he should hear it too. But he was probably the wiser of the two of them.
Ivy gave him a gentle smile. "Be sure to tell me where you're performing when you get to it."

"I just think it's selfish of me to think of them over others" he said closing his eyes as he leaned back and thought about it she knew there were truth to what she said. "Well hopefully I'll be able to balance it out" he said smiling lightly at her, regardless of what she thought half of the fact for the necklaces was because she had helped him. Whether she would believe it or not, she had helped him...she had made him think about where he was leading his life and if there was the place he wanted to lead it. That made him happy though, someone who made him think was something he was glad for simply because most people never really tried to make him think that often. "Oh of course" he said "I plan on making you come and see me once" he said smirking jokingly as he looked at her, Christian knew after this he would go home thinking of what this day had brought, it had brought him a friendship he had never expect so many years back.

Ivy laughed a little and smiled. "Don't worry. I'll come and see you. Don't take too long, i might be too fat to sit in a seat.... Oh, speaking of fat, I'm supposed to get over to the doctors, want to check up on me." Ivy rolled her eyes a little. They were always trying to guess how well she was doing, find out how everything was coming along. It was a bit tedious.
"I'll probably walk, its close, you're welcome to walk with me." She said getting up.

"Aw well I expect you to keep up with that promise" he said sticking out his tongue "baby and all" when she made the comment he shook his head "I'm sure you will shapen out fine". After all woman had the tendency to remember everything and calling her fat or saying she would be at any time was not a smart idea. "Ah you sound so excited about it" he noticed how she rolled her eyes though he guessed it was to make sure her and the baby were doing okay, no sense in risking anything. When she asked he nodded and sat up, eventually standing up and brushing himself off "of course I need to protect the pregnant women on her adventure to the doctors" he said kidding. Christian did feel a lot more comfortable sense the beginning of the day when they had sat down and talked with each other.

Ivy laughed. he was sweet, funny, maybe a bit over protective, and so not her type. but he'd make some poor defenseless feeling woman very happy, and she wished that he'd find her so he wouldn't be so lonely. If Robbie saw this she'd probably be screwed, but she was allowed ti have friends---it was more that Chris was the father of her first child.
Ivy actually hated doctors, but at least she went, she wanted things to go right, because things going wrong would make everything else go wrong. This had to be as painless and uncomplicated as possible. She sighed a little, running her hands through her hair. She was tired, not just physically either.
