On the son of the billionaires day off, what did he like to go well book stores were something he was keen to. Course, he was trying to keep under the radar for as long as he could because if she knew he was here he got the feeling she would not be all that happy. Maybe it was some sort of comfort for him to have him gone, his father had told him where she was. Now that she was a bit more famous and such, his father showed keen approval of her...how low he thought his teeth grinding together. He doubted anything would of ever been between them though, after all it had been some sort vacation fling, just some sort of fun for them.
Christian had been the shy kid that not many noticed, he went with her because she had...though he was not sure why she did but it did not matter. Then the kid came into his mind...his kid...the one he would never get to see, get to touch and tell her how amazing she was. Walking into the bookstore a few people glanced at him, sapphire eyes that you could get lost in glanced a bit around. White shirt., black tie and a pair of dark jeans were on his body, on his feet he just wore a pair of slip on black shoes. The girl at the counter looked him up and down and seemed particularly interested as he ran a hand threw his brown hair.
She walked over to him as he was flipping threw a script and she looked over his shoulder and he peered up from the book, sapphire eyes. "...I assure you I do not need any help miss" he said very simply, she looked simply disappointed and he flashed a smile to her that would make any girl blush. Christian with that watched her leave and gave out a breath, he was so glad she did not stick around no offense but he did not feel company being something he needed. He was trying to look at these books to distract himself which was not helping so he turned the corner and began to reach just for any old book. Coming to one book, he reached for it and when he did another hand rose for it also and he bumped into them "oh my sincerest apologies, ladies first" he did not let it process in his brain who it was yet.

Ivy wasn't exactly much of a reader, she came to Barnes and Noble for Dvds and music mostly. Here she was just here to take her mind off things. The stupid adopted parents had contacted her--even though they weren't supposed to since it was a closed adoption. Not to mention another call from Christian asking her what had happened to their daughter, if she knew. ((ooc-i had this in a thread before, so lets assume he was still back in cali when he called))
Well, now she did know. Her first word was ivy, and Ivory was about ready to bash her head into a wall.
The store wasn't nearly distracting enough, so she decided to leave for some retail therapy. As she made her way to go however she saw a book that she remembered reading a few years ago and went to pick it up when someone's hand bumped hers and she was startled speechless by the voice. She hadn't expected to remember it...
Christian was the last person she wanted to see right now.

When he heard nothing he got a bit worried and glanced over, wow...this was one of the most awkward situations he could possible be in. "Um..." he opened his mouth and shut it, what was he suppose to say he had called her a while ago. Was wanting to know what happened to his child such a bad thing? He hardly thought so...he knew that Ivory wanted to forget about it though, which was something he could say he did not expect. She was young, family was something that never really clicked in young peoples mind it never did for him until he thought about it.
"I...um...yea" was about all that he could let come out of his mouth, most guys would be all over running into someone who looked like her. He wanted to be invisible...oh how great it would be to be invisible right now, only a wish though. "About the call the other day" he leaned against the book case closing his sapphire eyes, he could not look at her. "I kind of...was not in the right mind frame I should not have..." he knew he should not have, after all a phone call was a bad way to do it. "I apologize, it was unneeded if I wanted the information I should of found it out on my own instead of prying into yours" he said shoving his hands in his pockets.
"So much has changed around me though and well somehow I can't move on from..." Christian got the feeling that she knew he was talking about the child. When he glanced at her finally, you could see the regret in his sapphire blue eyes, how he would take it back if he could. He would not of cared if she would of disregarded him, he would of been happy taken care of the child on his own it did not matter. He acted as if they had just met, he acted like they had the first time he had talked to her...it all seemed to familiar to him. He was nervous, that day he had been nervous to now though his nerves were way built up and it was not something he enjoyed.

She had forgotten how shy and soft spoken he had been. How had she ever gotten him into bed with her? She probably had been drunk for most of it. he was good looking, but she could remember now that he hadn't taken much charge in the bedroom. Ivy finally met his eyes, regarding him carefully.
"The family called me." She said slowly, her voice dry and empty sounding. "It was supposed to be a closed adoption. Our daughter's first word is ivy, how's that for irony?" Ivy said with a little laugh that almost sounded like a sob. She bit ehr lip and tried to control her emotions. She hated when people saw her sad, and even after all this time, she could show him her emotion better than she could tell Robbie, her current boyfriend. An actual boyfriend.
"Look, I accept your apology. Its just.... frankly I.... I would have made a terrible parent when you knew me." She had been almost 18 then, and now she was nineteen and then some. Almost two years. Ivory had been growing up, and with the real love that she felt for Robbie, she was starting to see how real families came to be. "But I always hated that I had to give her away. And I hated that you called to remind me of what I had lost."
Ivy shifted her weight uncomfortably, she was a stranger to sharing so much information about her emotions, and it was hard to look him in the eyes now, so she didn't. Ordinarily she was confident and in control and she felt helpless now. Those eyes saw through her.
"I just, I don't want to talk about this." She muttered.

Christian had always been this way, he did not like talking really it was not his thing about the only time he could remember meeting Ivy was at a party most likely. He might of let his friends convince him to drink, he did not know and frankly at this time and moment in life it did not matter. Girls talked to him enough to where he realized in there eyes he was probably attractive but nothing about him really said that he cared. Why should he? Somehow committing to someone was something he could never see himself doing though he did not want flings either.
Hearing the words his mouth ran dry...timing must of been weird for her which made him feel even worse...two phone calls that she probably could not handle. In a way he wished maybe that he had received that phone call, just to be able to hear that she was okay...that his girl was happy. "...Eventually it was going to surface back up" he thought about taking his child back, being happy with her but then again...she was happy right now. They were the strangers, not the people who had taken charge and taken care of the child, they were her real parents. Christian believed in redemption but...somehow he could not forgive himself and he beat himself up for it everyday.
Smiling a bit he looked at her "she knows where she comes from" his voice was soft as he ran a hand threw his dark hair, giving out a small sigh. It sounded like she was getting upset...great, he was really not good at this maybe he should just skip this whole attempting to talk to people. At least talking to the girl you got pregnant and then were forced to leave, he would of stayed and took care of it if he wouldn't of been forced. That was if she had wanted to keep it, he knew that people did not have to be together to be good parents he had seen it before. All that mattered to him was this child, and not being a total jerk to the women that stood in front of him, dating did not matter to him much at this point with anyone.
"No one makes the perfect parent at first" he said very simple as he brought his right foot up so that he was leaning against the book shelf with one foot to it. "It takes practice, you would of learned eventually" now she was filled with regret, it was a rash decision though and it had to be made. "Yea..." he rubbed his forehead and shut his eyes for a minute "guess I was just trying to drag someone down with me, stupid huh?" he said with a small chuckle. When she said that she did not feel like talking about it he nodded "understood" and like that he dropped the questions or anything else on his mind about it. With that he went back to looking threw the books, most men would of been joyed to be talking with a model here but not him, "how is the New Yorker life treating you?" his voice seemed to flow perfectly, as if the subject before hand had never been there.

Ivy actually laughed. "I was terrible then. I had never been faithful to anyone, I never gave a damn for anyone but myself, and that would have been no way to bring a kid up. And now. Now I have an honest to god boyfriend, and having to get the child back and share... it would just be.... I don't know. Maybe someday I'll want to be included in her life again, but I just, i don't know." And that was the last she was going to say on the subject. If she were to get pregnant now, she would keep it, and she wouldn't care what Robbie decided to do. Ivy was older and smarter now. not perfect, but she might be able to be a good mother this time.
And then she covered everything back up, back to normal. "I've always been a New Yorker."
she said with a smile. Ivy had lived in the city all her life. He was the one who was visiting. "How do you like it?" she asked. Part of her wanted to become friends with him, patch up the mess they were left with. And another part wished he would leave.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Hearing her speech he could not help but be a bit glad, she had changed which was comforting especially with this new factor in her life being the child and well him. He was trying to avoid coming into her life, after all he had complicated things already and he felt bad for doing this to her. He silently cursed Barnes and Nobles for having them meet on this day, though something good could come out of this. They could get a understanding of each other, they had never had one and now they had some sort of one...at least he liked to think they did. He wanted her to be comfortable around him, after all what had happened was a misfortune and due to that he felt a bit depressed for putting someone threw it.
Laughing he gave a smile "well I suppose a true new yorker would love this city" Christian said as he flipped threw the pages of a few scripts. "It's decent" he said looking down at the script with a small glance in her direction "I mean even California I didn't fancy that much". Christian had always moved around so much that he could never really go somewhere that he called home, no where he went made him feel all that home ish. Somewhere he felt safe, safety was something he had long forgotten about. "I'm not going much of anywhere though" he said as he put the script on the shelf and looked at another one.
"My father sort of threw me here" Christian said "for college purposes and to make sure his little record company here did not go down in flames". He looked at her and shrugged his shoulders "I mean it's okay and I am taken care of but it's just to dull for me" he said very simply. "Modeling been a big success for you lately?" he was talking but he really did not feel like making eye contact after all he was not sure if he hated her or not. Something about her said she sort of hated him the other part said she wanted to kind of be his friend but not enough at the moment. He wanted to get to know her though, she seemed like a well rounded person after all these years.

"I loved California," She said, finally looking at him. She hadn't loved him. But she did love that trip. The sun, the sand, the water. It was really somewhere she belonged. the parties... But she was loving New York more and more everyday it seemed. she finally wanted to be only where she was.
"Yeah, modeling's going really well." Granted she was mostly doing swimsuit, Victoria's Secret and nudes. But she looked goo that way, which she supposed was a good thing. But she managed to get other things modeled as well. She didn't tell him she was a model these days, and she guessed maybe he recognized her in something, but really didn't want to ask.
"What are you doing, for a job....?" She asked. Ivy felt bad for not really knowing anything about him.

"Don't get me wrong the beaches are beautiful I kind of miss that aspect but I don't know guess I'm not a city person" he said with a little smile. Really no one would of ever guessed that because...well...he had been raised in the city but he sort of wanted something more then the city life. It got boring out here with the day in and day out bussel, it all seemed so pointless each and every person did not know each other. In other places in the world you could go somewhere, where well people knew your name if people knew your name here that was not a good thing in his eyes. Sometimes it could be but, he hated people knowing his name, people stopping him in the streets to get a picture with him, he had not done anything truly valuable to the world.
Him knowing she was a model was simple, his father had shoved his nose into New York and told him about it, not that he cared much. If it made her happy, he did not care if it was something that most would deem uncool or whatever. As long as someone enjoyed what they were doing, it was the perfect job for them in his eyes, some people could hate the life of being a model you never know. It came with a lot of pressure though. He had seen it happen over and over, good girls killing themselves, that sort of thing to become the most beautiful "running his record label" he said "I just...it's not what I want to do" he shrugged.

"You never struck me as a city person, you're so quiet and sort of soft spoken and shy." She said looking him over. He seemed like a country boy, somewhere secluded where he could just be or something like that. Ivy would die if she was taken out of the city. It was were she belonged. The parties, the entertainment, the life.
"Well, then what do you want to do?" Ivy said bluntly. "Your family has enough money to support your dreams, you should do something about it. Do what you want." She smiled at him. He needed to get his head out the sand. She really couldn't remeber why she'd chosen to have a fling with him of all people. They were hardly alike.

"Observant aren't you?" he said sarcastically and he meant it as a joke that was obvious from the look on his face, he enjoyed fun. "Eh" he shrugged his shoulders "I just don't see the point, publicity takes anything I say badly" that was part of the reason though really. That was why he started taking things more seriously, because eventually he needed to publicity only got worse as the years went on. Christian just wanted somewhere where there was enough room for him to spread his legs, he would even settle for somewhere on the outer rims of the city. When she asked what he wanted to do, he thought it would sound a bit silly...after all a actor?
"I..." he paused for a minute and looked at her "honestly, I want to become a actor, which I'm there kind of" he rubbed the back of his neck and gave a nervous laugh. "Kind of weird that I'm not a fan of saying to much yet I want to act" with that he put the last script he had been looking at back up and kept looking. When she said that he should do what he wanted...if only it was that simple was all that went threw his head at the moment. "That we do but...that's exactly why I really can't go threw with what I want" Christian said looking at her for a moment as he was trying to explain it. "When we have this money...you have to be certain things and a actor is hardly something my father wants me to do, after all what would everyone in his business say if I was a foolish actor" it was harsh but it was truth. "Grow a backbone Christian." She said with a blunt honesty in her eyes and she met his. "Screw your father and what he wants. It's your life, and don't take no for an answer." She almost felt bad for him, at least Ivy knew what she wanted and did it. She'd never felt ambitious until right now.
"You think my parents wanted a slut who parades around in bikinis for a living as a daughter? No, of course not. But on some level, that's sort of what I am. And I wasn't going to be someone I wasn't. Being an actor is far more respectable than what I am. You'll earn money if you're any good. Then what will your father have to complain about?Nothing." Ivy thought she had a good point. But she wasn't sure how they'd gotten from baby talk to here. Since when did she talk so much? Since when did she care about his life? Since when did she put so much faith in happiness.

He raised his eyebrow as she said it, maybe it was true but he just could not do it to his father...he had been threw something no one should go threw. "I just....he's been threw a lot" he said "he was a terrible father but" he shrugged his shoulders "the guys been threw a lot". It was the truth, it would kill Christian on the inside to know that they women he loved died having his child, that would eat him on the inside. That was why he thought his father did not like to be around him, because then he had to see the thing that he blamed for his wife not being around anymore. His eyes when talking about him, held no anger or anything like that...all they held was a deep sympathy for the guy.
"I would rather not be the person to shove another dagger into his back and leave him there bleeding" it was a bit poetic but it was what it was. "It does not have to be like that, there are good models who don't do that" he said pausing for a minute as he looked at her "fantastic ones". Christian looked at another script "my father would find a way to complain but at least then he acknowledges my existence, even now he's not that proud". Christian let people beat and bruise him all they wanted but he always believed there was something more to them and he tried to make it come out one day. "I just can not hurt him, even if he says it wouldn't I know losing the only piece of my mom he has left would kill him...both literally and figuratively".

"Look, your father loves you Chris. Really, deep down, he does. You are all he has." She remembered something about him not having a mother but she hadn't paid that much attentions, she'd just wanted booze and sex at the time. hell she'd only started fixing herself, now she had been faithful for about 2 months and things were going well. Up until recently. "He would want you to be happy, no one wants to find out their child has been living a lie to make the parents happy. He's going to die one day, and then who will you live for?" Ivy asked, putting a hand on her hip.
"I still think you should try." She said with a little shake of her head as if she had nothing more to say on the subject.

"He would not have kept me around for this long if he did not" Christian said as he leaned against the book case thinking about it all, how he had gotten hereFrom wanting to avoid her now he seemed to pour himself to hers and he was indifferent about it, he was glad to get it out there but it was her. The girl he had met on a lucky break and who had never exactly known, yet she seemed to have the exact right idea. Something in him wanted to believe that he should do something for himself, but it was not something he could bring himself to do. Christian had always wanted to be what others needed, and even if he had to sacrifice his own dreams, sadly enough he would do it.
Christian tilted his head back and let out a deep breath as he thought about it, she did have a point but his mind always brought him back to making his father happy. "I just don't want to spend my life living for myself...I want to live it for other people" he said shrugging as she read the rest of the script for a minute. They were kind of done on that subject, at least he hoped so it had been forever sense he bothered to talk about his personal life and now he was talking about it with someone who things were already pretty rocky around. Then again it was good to get that stuff off of his chest "enough of my sob story" he said very simply, it was definitely no use trying to sort him out plus it felt selfish. "Something troubling you?" he said glancing at her "your eyes look a bit troubled, course you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to" he shrugged. .
