Will hated this building, sweltering all the time, would it kill them to get the air conditioning fixed? He had a fan on his desk which at least kept him from sweating, for some reason he didn't sweat much. Which was a miracle because otherwise his curls would have stuck to his head.
He was busy writing his piece on the subway musician, Zachary, because he hoped it would help give her a chance. His head bent over his computer keys, he was all wrapped up in the words, trying to make them perfect when someone knocked on his desk.
"Yo Will." Will didn't need to look up to know it was his best friend from work, Steve.
"What is it?" he replied. The heat made him so tired and grouchy.
"There's some adorably bubbly brunette here looking for you? Stalker or do you want me to send her back?" Steve asked with a smile. "And if you don't want her, can I have her?"
William laughed. He figured it had to be Lexi. "Send her over." he said with a smile.

Maybe she was being a tad stalkerish, wandering through New York looking for a guy she hardly knew. Still, she hadn't been able to stop thinking about him and Lexi wanted nothing more than to be able to see Will again. She didn't have his phone number, so she couldn't call him. All she knew was that Will was a reporter. That meant if she tried hard enough, she could find him at work.
She'd gotten out of bed, done the necessary chores, and dressed herself quickly. Pink was her color today. Hopefully Will would think she looked alright. Lexi practically danced into the front office of the newspaper, twirling around. She grinned at the guy sitting at the front desk and asked for Will. She wasn't sure if they'd let her back there. As good looking as he was, Will probably had a few stalkers.
She was delighted when the man came back and told her how to find Will. Without hesitation, she followed his directions back to Will's desk. A grin brightened her face and brought out her dimples. "Hey stranger.... How's life?"

Will looked up from his work for a second time and smiled. "When he said there was an 'adorably bubble brunette' here to see me, i figured it had to be you." he said with a laugh. He looked around but there really wasn't another chair close by. Too band, he hated to keep her standing. And his desk was far too cluttered with stuff for her to be able to sit on it. On the other hand though, she seemed sort of like someone who wanted to keep moving.
"Stalking me?" he said with a smile. he knew she wasn't really, but she wanted to see him badly enough that she came to find him. he hadn't even said what paper he worked for. Will grabbed a post it off his desk and wrote his number down on it and held it out for her to take. "This way it won't be so hard to find me."

Lexi couldn't help but blush. She wasn't used to having one guy think she was attractive. Let alone two! She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, tilting her head at Will. He seemed pretty happy, so she figured he didn't mind her being there. A small giggle escaped her lips when he asked if she was stalking him. "Yeah, well, what can I say... You really make an impression.... Besides, I might slip sometime and I need to know you'll be there to catch me...." Her blue eyes twinkled and she winked at Will, biting her lower lip.
She was delighted when Will handed her a post it with his number written on it. "You'd have saved me a lot of trouble if you'd given that to me sooner...." she admitted. Not that she minded tracking him down at all. "So, um... do they give you lunch breaks around here?" she asked, smiling a little. She'd been hoping to arrive around lunch time so that she could get a bit of time alone with Will.

"Of course, because dancers are sooo unaware." He joked lightly, his smile growing. Like she really needed his saving.... She was so cute, so attractive. Part of him just wanted to hold her close and just stroke her arm and breathe in her hair. And half of him wanted to kiss her softly and feel that dancer body against him. Both totally inapropriate for the amount of time and way he knew her. So he kept him mouth shut, but it was hard to stay seated.
"Well, I don't get off for lunch for another half and hours, but lets' stick it to the man." He said with a grin, trying to get out of his chair at a normal speed. Will couldn't help but clasp her hand and hurry back the way they came. His need to touch her was unbarable, and now he was at least more content.
"Steve, cover for me." He said to the man at the desk, who just smiled and muttered 'lucky bastard' under his breath, but nodded. Will laughed and got outside and took a deep breath. The weather was nicer here than it was inside, where he'd been cooking.

Will was right to assume that she didn't much need his saving, but she did like having him there. Almost more than she was willing to admit. She was delighted when Will suggested that they go to lunch anyway, even if he wasn't supposed to be off for lunch yet. She eagerly laced her fingers with his, thrilled that he wanted to hold her hand in public. She grinned happily at Will's coworker and headed outside with him.
Once they'd made it outside,s he released his hand and twirled around yet again, coming to rest with her head and hands against his chest. Maybe she hadn't known him long enough to be comfortable this close to him, but it just felt right. When she did bother to move, it was only to tilt her head up so that she could look at him. A half smile played on her lips and slowly, she stood on her tiptoes and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
A full two seconds later,s he realized that she was certainly pushing her limits. She barely knew Will. She shouldn't have been kissing him! "I... uh.... I'm.... sorry about that," she mumbled, though she really wasn't sorry at all.

Will watched her twirl, pausing on the sidewalk. She was so light and care free, so childlike and full of wonder. It was beautiful, and it was unique. And when she stood in front of him, hands and head on his chest, he just couldn't push her away. He knew it wasn't supposed to go like this, they were strangers. But it was like love at first sight, at least lust and connection at first sight. but it wasn't hard to imagine loving her.
The kiss.
It was so soft and tender and while he tried to tell himself he didn't know her, and for all he knew she was crazy or married or something... And yet...
"Would it be too cliché if I said, 'don't be'?" Will asked with a sort of nervous laugh. he was supposed to be more of a gentleman than this. It hardly seemed right. But Will cupped her face in both hands before she got to far and kissed her again gently for a moment before letting go, feeling a little color in his face. But he grinning and couldn't hide it very well, (not like he really needed to) though he tried to by talking. "So where do you want to get lunch?"

If she'd expected anything at all, it was to be pushed away. She'd never thought that Will might go along with her actions. It was unreasonable, wasn't it? After all, they'd just met. They hardly knew one another. Sure, she was pretty sure (courtesy of an especially strong gut feeling) that they were pretty much meant to be, and she was a strong believer in fate. Still, that wasn't a common belief. At least not so far as she could tell. So her pouncing on a guy she'd barely met and kissing him... It really wasn't normal behavior.
It took her another moment to realize that people might think it was her normal behavior. She was kind of alright with that until she realized that Will might think it was normal behavior for her. Lexi had managed to work herself into a frazzle by the time Will said something about how she shouldn't be sorry. She felt a blush creeping into her cheeks, though she couldn't deny loving the feel of his lips on hers again.
Lexi had lost herself in the moment entirely when Will brought her back to it. "Uhm... I don't know..." she mumbled. Chewing on her lower lip, the girl looked around. All at once, her eyes came to rest on a large clocktower. She frowned and squinted at it. Her brow furrowed and a sinking feeling settled into her gut. "We might have to reschedule that lunch," she told him with a sigh. "I've got a show tonight and I'm already late for rehearsal..." The last thing she wanted to do was leave, but work was work, and she had to settle for the next best thing. "You should come. It's at the Metropolitan Opera. Doors are at 7:30..." Before she could think better of it, Lexi kissed will on the cheek and whirled around, running off in the direction of her apartment.
