you're more outstanding between the sets eyeliner and cigarettes
Elle chewed on the end of the pen placed firmly between her plumped lips. White teeth gnawed down on the cool plastic, each dent leaving the teen with a feeling of satisfaction. God she hated these things. Interviews. She’d been partaking in them since she was thirteen and they’d quickly become old news to her. At first the questions had been all about her family but as her career had finally began to take off, it was all about Ellette. Atleast that was something. She found it far easier to talk about herself than her mother and father.
” So Ellette, do you think it’s because of your parents already high status that you find yourself in the spotlight so much or would you like to think it’s all your own work?” the thirty something year old woman with red hair and bad glasses asked Elle with a plastic smile. What the fuck kind of question was that? She may aswell have been asking if Elle only thought people liked her because her parents had been famous. Not to mention she was making it seem like the eighteen year old didn’t deserve the name in the film industry she’d created for herself. Pursing her lips for a moment she thought about her answer. That was one of the things she’s learnt from a young age. Be careful what you say. Titling her head to the side for a moment in thought Ellette finally let a fake smile sprawl across her pretty features. ”No, not really. Obviously people were paying attention to me before I found my way in the industry because of who my parents were. My father was a musician though and my mother a model, acting’s my thing and I don’t think my last name has had much influence over my career” Elle answered with perfect execution. She’d been asked similar questions for the last three years so she kind of knew the ropes.
Crossing her legs over in boredom she checked the time, making no means to hide how bored and eager to finish she was. Her interviewer seemed to pick up on it and was quick to respond, ”Just one more question Ms Richards” she was quick to reassure the blonde. ”You’re doing extremely well at such a young age and you’re often seen out on the town. What do you say to those that think you’re another little girl gone wild?”. Another common one but one that still drove the girl up the wall.
”I go out. I have fun. So what? Really, it’s not my fault other people would rather read about my nights out than have any of their own” she shrugged it off, dropping her phone into her bag and slinging it on her shoulder to signal the interview was well and truly over. Yes, Elle was the first to admit she liked a good time. Loved a good time actually but why did people have to make such a big deal of it? She was eighteen, she was famous and rich and pretty. She deserved to have fun. It wasn’t like she was a bad person or anything. Just a teeny bit out of control at times.
Thanking the interviewer for her time, Elle settled herself more comfortably in her seat as she left. Time to call her father and let him know how the interview at the popular girls magazine went. Atleast she hadn’t had to get a face full of make up as she’d done the photos days before. Ear pressed against her ear she listened to the rings without receiving an answer. ”Great” she muttered to herself, clicking the end button on her phone and scowling as it hung up.

Izzy strutted out of her photo shoot squinting a little. It was any wonder that she wasn't blind from all the flashes she faced all of the time and it wasn't getting any better. Ever since she was hired by Victoria Secrets she'd been photographed constantly, when she was getting coffee, when she was out having fun, when she was walking her dog. It had only been going on for about 2 weeks and she was already getting sick and tired of it. One of the many flaws to her new found success. Not that she was complaining. It was more than worth it and she knew that having her picture and her name plastered in magazines was only going to help her get even closer to her dreams.
Even so, it was hard to think of the silver lining when people were constantly following her and flashing their cameras while shouting absurde questions at her. And the headlines we just a topping on the cake, the media had already figured out that she was an anorexic alcoholic off the rails party girl dating a grubby lead singer to an up and coming band and a fame whore because she just happened to be close friends with a famous actress an alleged ex girlfriend to Chad Michael Murray. She wished she was an ex to Chad and the only things they had got right were that she was a friend of an actress but not for attention reasons and that she was a bit of a party girl. But she was no where near coming off the rails. She'd consider herself pretty level headed.
She was ready to leave and get on with the rest of her unplanned day until she cast her eyes on a familiar figure. She smiled to herself before she skipped over to tackle the blond from behind "Elle!" she squeaked before letting go and releasing her from her arms and going so they were face to face. "Fancy seeing you here." she bubbled pushing her overly done, curled hair behind her ear. She was totally makeup less. The make up from the shoot had been far to over the top for her to leave with so she had just washed it all of and decided to go 'naked'. She had good skin so she could more than get away with it.
It seemed like it had been forever since she had last crossed paths with Elle, maybe a week or so but that was way longer than she would have liked. Recently Izzy had just been crazy busy, with a new job, her dad being in hospital and her mom coming to visit on top of school, she hadn't had much time to go out and party. "I'm not gonna lie, you don't look all to happy to be here." she laughed taking in the look on her friends face. Izzy loved photo shoots so she wasn't really bored being there but she knew how incredibly boring interviews could be. Not that she'd had all that many but from the few she had had she already saw them as a chour.

It always frustared Elle when people didn’t answer their phones. It was rude and inconsiderate. Especially when it was your daughter calling! It was a little over the top for Ellette tog et cranky over something like that but that stupid interviewer lady had pissed her off and she hated having to fight for her parents attention. Her father was some big time music producer who was better known for fronting some huge deal band in the eighties. So now he still thought he was a rock star apparently. As for her mother? Her famous face was constantly being flashed across television. Either hosting award shows, kicking people of match making programs or just being a fame whore. It was kind of annoying coming from such a well known family. You were constantly being compared to them and warned not to make a fool of yourself because you could ruin things for everyone. It was also a hassle to be photographed stumbling from clubs with models and then having to put up with your idiotic brother lecturing you about it.
Not that her life was all that bad. There were definite perks. Free stuff all the time, loads of money, entry to everything fun and the chance to party with the hottest people. Still, being able to get in contact with your father when you wanted would have been just as nice. Throwing her phone in her bag, she stood up, ready to leave as he stomach grumbled furiously. Suddenly she was being knocked in the back in a huge embrace from some unknown person. ”Christ” she screamed out loudly, nearly losing grip of her handbag. Was it some crazed fan coming to kidnap her? Wait no. It was just Izzy. ”Hey gorgeous” Elle finally recovered, her heart still pounding like crazy as she looked at her friend. Isabel Van Der Woodsen. Everyone’s favourite up and coming model. Elle’s too. The girls had met when Izzy first moved to town and Elle had fell in love with her at once. She was fun and down to earth. Not to mention how easy it was to get what they wanted when they were together. Looking at the girl, it was annoying to see just how perfect she looked even without makeup. Then again she wouldn’t be a model if she wasn’t beautiful would she?
”Ugh I’m really not” Elle admitted with a laugh and shake of her head. Atleast her mood was picking up a little. ”You’re so lucky you don’t have to do stupid interviews with horrible women” Elle added loudly as her interviewer passed once more to pick something up. She didn’t mean to be cruel but comparing her to her family always pissed Elle off and so did the constant focus on her partying. Couldn’t a girl have fun these days? Her brother got away with it all the time, why couldn’t she? ”It’s over now though I guess” she managed to smile genuinely now. Just that thought made her happy.
Her stomach growled once more and it was clear Elle had to have food soon. The café at the magazine sounded pretty good right now and they’d undoubtedly get free food. ”Are you busy? Let’s go get food?” Elle suggested with a huge grin, placing her hand on her stomach. ”Or are you anorexic this week?” Elle asked with a laugh, ”I can never quite remember”. It was all a joke ofcourse. Isabel had a perfect body and ofcourse that lead everyone to assume she was anorexic. Elle had received the same rumours a few months ago but they were soon put to rest when someone snapped her eating the biggest burger she’d ever seen. Thin, Elle was far from anorexic. The girl adored food and now she was in desperate need of some. She was sure Izzy would get used to the rumours. Atleast they weren’t as bad the attention Ellette Richards got and atleast she didn’t have to put up with movie premiers and stud unless she let Elle drag her along too. The model and the actress? Everyone loved that pair.

Izzy was up and coming, that was for sure, but she wasn't really quite what you would consider a celebrity just ret. More of a rising star and already she was getting more attention than she would have liked from the media. She did her best not to let it get to her, she knew it was all bull and she knew that they were just looking for a reaction. She just had to stay calm and ignore it and not give them anything to spur them on. She could just shrug it off and not react, her publisist had said that was the best way to role with it.
Izzy let out a giggle at Ellette's reaction of fear and shook her head a little. Of course she didn't know what it was liek to be attacked by fans but when you had friends like her you should be used to getting attacked from behind, she had a bad habbit of sneeking up on people and jumping on them. She was just a little dramatic like that. "Calm down darlin', your gonna age your self before your due" she teased in her tick New Zealand accent. Ever since she had moved from New Zealand just over a year ago, Ellette had been one of her closest friends, by far her closest girl friend. So far, most of the girls Izzy had befriended had stabbed her in the back and betrayed her easily given trust. Ellette was the one that had stuck around longest.
Izzy pouted sticked out her bottom lip and put her arm around Elle's shoulders "Awe muffin" she gushed and started walking in the direction of the building exit. "They pointing the finger for having a good time again or somethin?" she giggled. She knew the deal, she knew that Elle knew how to have fun and that the media and the rest of the world frowned upon that, she also knew from personal exsperiance how it felt to be so enfuriated by the accusations. She was only a year olded than Ellette and she was just as 'wild'. "Or was it more family drama?" she said dramatically and sarcastically. She knew that none of Elle's family really liked Izzy, she was a bad influence if you asked them. It was all Izzy's doing, turning Ellette into a party crazy girl like she was. Not that Izzy cared. She knew what she was and what she wasn't and Elle's parents and her brother could judge her as they liked.
She giggled again at the sound of Elle's stomach growling "I'm freek for the rest of the day actually." she grinned. She burst into laughter at the next comment "Oh no, I'm bulimic this week so I'm perfectly alright to eat." she laughed. Izzy had never once had an eating issue, she had been fired back in New Zealand for putting on weight and refusing to starve herself to get it off. Izzy did her part, it wasn't all fries and burgers all of the time but she didn't starve herself, just did her best not to stuff her face full of crap all of the time. "Where'd ya wanna go?" she ushered as they got into the elevator to go down to the ground floor.
