Robbie had been dreading the brunch he was due to have with his mother ever since she had brought it up but he knew that she wasn't kidding when she promised she would hunt him down and force him to see her if he didn't go. He wasn't sure whether the old bag had really invited Ivy but he could really have cared less. She was going, he really needed the support, it was hardly like facing his mother was an easy feet.
Their cab pulled up infront of the fancy hotel Philipa had stayed at for the night and Robbie slipped out after paying the cab driver. He hated cabs but his car wasn't really meant for Time square and he was pretty sure it would have taken far too long they'd drove there.
He took Ivy's hand and gave it a small squeeze "I'm gonna apologise in advance for anything she's going to say to you." he laughed almost sounding a little nervous before they headed in. The blond, overly botoxed woman was already there with a glass of fancy white wine and her blackberry in hand. She looked up to see them and sneered, it was her best attempt at a welcoming smile, and it wasn't the botox's fault either.
"Your late." she complaned bitterly as they sat down. Robbie didn't even say anything to that, 3 minutes wasn't late, not in a city with such bad traffic issues anyway. She turned her attention to Ivy and looked at her rather than threw her for the first time. "We didn't actually, formally introduce myself. Philipa McCoy and I do apologise for my... lack of manners last night. I was just so... taken aback and this is all a little outragious for my liking but that doesn't mean your a tart, though he is still an idiot." she mumbled the last part though it wasn't an attempt to hide the comment from Robbie who was just sat there blinking in sheer confusion. Was this really the same woman? Could he really have just heard and seen that right, his mother apologising and being nice to Ivy? He wanted to slap himself to make sure his wasn't dreaming but he knew that would draw too much attention to him so he just sat in stunned silence and watched.

I resolve to call her up a thousand times a dayAnd ask her if she'll marry me in some old fashioned wayBUT MY SILENT TEARS HAVE GRIPPED ME!!Long before I reach the phone, long before my tongue has tripped meMUST I ALWAYS BE ALONE??OUTFIT Ivy laughed lightly and grabbed his hand as he apologized for his mother. It was almost refreshing to see him so worried and nervous--he was human after all. "Don't worry Rob, it'll be alright. I'm used to dealing with bitches." She smiled. Ivy was in the line of work with the most drama queens, she used to be one. She knew she could deal.
Ivy sat down cautiously, and sat calmly as his mother spoke to her with actually civility. She was taken aback but tried not to show it. "Oh." Was all she managed at first, but she recovered quickly. "I'm Ivory Smithsonian, no relation to the Smithsonian Museum Smithsonians." She said with a little smile, fighting against shooting Robbie a look of confusion.
"And apology accepted, though, I don't think your son is an idiot, just human... besides, takes two to tango, he had a little help in making this mess." Not that it was really a mess, not to Ivy. She was... excited about the whole thing, if it went well of course.
ooc- Finally back <3 i missed you =P

Philipa rolled her eyes. It took two to tango but it took one to not be extra careful though she didn't quite want to go into that. Talk about her sons sex life wasn't something she wanted to go over at brunch, or at all for that matter. "So your keeping it, staying together and she's moved in, that's were you both stand right now is it?" she had to make sure she had for facts right before she started to plot on ways she was going to controle this situation.
Robbie nodded "Yeah" was all he could think up to say. He was always a little lacking in words around his mother, usually because she stopped him saying anything before he could even get started.
"Okay, and your in school and now completely jobless?" Philipa addressed Ivy this time taking a sip of the tea she had ordered while she was waiting impatiently for them to arrive.

She reached across the gap between their seats to take his hand. When someone went from being Momzilla to very nice there had to be a problem, something was going on behind the scenes here, and Ivory didn't like it.
"Um, yeah. In school and jobless. I'm a model so... and maternity magazines wouldn't take be because I look too young..." Did his mother know how old she was? Only a month or so into being twenty. It hardly was very good, considering she had been a teen when the child was conceived, not to mention she'd have one at seventeen.
"But I'm trying to find some desk job at the agency." She said, not really sure where this was going and was trying to head things off if she could.

Philipa nodded "Then it's a good thing Elle did tell me what was going on, you really are an idiot, honestly Robert." she shook her head in a judging and disaproving manner "You're so bloody stubbon, not calling for help with money in the first place but to be trying to bring some poor kid into it is just..." she shook her head once more piling all the blame onto Robbie again. "I mean, is that dingy little flat in that neighborhood a good idea for a start. And you're hardly keeping your head alone above water never mind her and a kid." she started to rant and Robbie started to see more of what he knew best in his mother though there was a more consurned twist to it. He had no idea what to say to it, what was he supposed to say? He already knew everything she was saying and he had yet to come up with a perminant solution to the money problem.

She didn't know how to react to this woman at all. It wasn't like they could disagree. Rob was stubborn. "It's not fair for you to take care of us..." But it would be helpful. Her parents weren't that rich, they'd be more apt to give the couple time and help, nit money. Money would help, but it seemed selfish to her somehow.
Ivy wasn't going to keep saying Robbie wasn't an idiot, and she was not about to defend his apartment, it wasn't great, but it was home--sort of. And if accepting her help meant she was going to hang around... she wasn't sure she liked the idea of that.
ooc- sorry had a sleep over yesterday. where do we want to go with this?
