"How could I forget you?" he said without thinking. But honestly, she was a character. She was bubbly and yet refined, very pretty but not exactly in the conventional way. She was diferent and she caught his attention. He couldn't imagine forgetting her, it was like forgetting what a rain storm looked like on a sunny day.
Will covered up by giving his companion a little mock bow and holding out his arm jokingly for her to take. "Why but of course Miss. Shall I escort you there?" Granted it was very close, just down the street, and he hardly expected her to touch him. So he stood up and laughed a little.
"I think there's one at the end of the street."

Lexi wasn't sure what surprised her more; the fact that Will had just said that or the fact that it was exactly the way she felt about him. She was fairly certain that she'd never forget him. Not that she would ever want to. And for a moment they were frozen in a silence that was awkward because of the electricity buzzing between the two of them.
When he offered her a mock bow, Lexi laughed and watched the man right himself. When he offered her his arm, she hesitated, knowing it was only appropriate for her not to touch him. Not yet at least. Still, she couldn't deny the fact that she wanted to. Instead of giving in to her urge, she simply nodded when he mentioned that the was a coffee shop not far away. He was correct, of course. She'd known that before she'd suggested it.
Her moment of clear thinking and good behavior was just that, a moment. Her courage plucked up a bit, and Lexi offered Will a crooked grin. "I thought you were gonna escort me," she teased, lacing her fingers with his.

Will couldn't help but laugh. "Oh right, How silly of me." He said squeezing her hand lightly as she took it. "However, if we're going to pretend to be all old fashioned, we have to do it right." he said with a little link. He gently unlaced her fingers and placed her arm under his and then held her hand again.
"See this way, if you slip, I can catch you." He said with a little smile. He knew this first hand because his mother always walked with him like that, and he had a tendency to trip as a child, he was always looking at so much and trying to remember it that he often fell on his face.
And with that, they started off to the coffee shop in silence. He was unsure of what to say, or if maybe he should have let the technicalities go.

Of course she hadn't been playing at anything old fashioned, but she supposed it was alright. After all, it was a good sign that he wanted to continue touching her. It wasn't as if he'd simply dropped her hand. So she let her arm be looped through his, fairly certain that she wouldn't mind going wherever he led her anyway. "You're very good at this escorting thing," she told him, her voice sounding a million times more serious than it had before. "Do you frequently go around escorting girls you've just met?" She had a feeling he wasn't that sort of guy, but she had to ask.
It wasn't until a few moments later, when they'd lapsed into silence, that she really thought about what he'd said. That he was there to catch her if she slipped. Any idiot knew that a grace as well taught (and hard earned, might i add) as Lexi's wouldn't suddenly disappear. The chances of her slipping by accident were pretty slim. Still, she couldn't help but be intrigued by the idea of him catching her. All at once, she tucked one foot behind the other, intentionally catching her toe behind the heel of the other foot. It caused her to "slip" and fall toward Will, exactly what she'd been hoping for. She held her breath, waiting to see if she'd perhaps taken this a little too far or, possibly even worse, if he would think she'd actually fallen and completely miss the fact that she was, quite literally, throwing herself at him.

Will realized she was a dancer, so she probably wasn't clumsy. Well, he once dating a ballerina who bumped into everything when she wasn't dancing. "Not usually. Most would think I was over stepping a line." he said frankly. he didn't pick girls up though, if that was what she meant. He had faith that Lexi could figure it out. She seemed smart enough.
And then she did slip.
But somehow, he doubted it was a real trip, since the timing was almost unbelievable.
Will pinned her arm to his side with his elbow steading her quickly, but he reached around with his other hand to make sure she was steady. Then he smiled softly meeting her eyes softly. "See? I've got you." he said realizing how it was true in a physical sense, but emotionally, she was the one getting him.

Ordinarily, Lexi tried hard not to read into things too much. This time, she couldn't quite help it, though. She allowed herself to feel quite special when she realized that Will wasn't the sort to go around picking up girls with his intelligence, his stunning good looks, and, of course, that to die for accent. Not that he couldn't, of course.
When she'd deliberately fallen toward him, she'd almost expected him to behave more maturely than she did (ooc - for once, a girl who's less mature than the boy that's YOUNGER than her!). In a way, he did when h simply steadied her. It was exactly what she needed, though. When his eyes met hers, she suppressed a grin. There was a hint of deep, smoldering emotion in there, and when he told her he had her, she knew she could trust him. She knew that she could rely on him if she needed to. More than that, she knew that she wanted to.
Overwhelmed by the sudden rush of feelings, Lexi turned her face down so that her eyes focused on her shoes. Her cheeks were once again burning with a scarlet blush. "I believe we were in search of coffee," she prompted, her voice soft and slightly unsteady. She was reluctant to keep moving when they seemed to be having such a perfect moment here, but she was sure if they stayed still much longer, she'd manage to ruin it.

Will saw her blush and bit his lip a little, looking back at the street ahead of them. "Right, uh, so let's go." He said starting to walk toward the coffee shop. They got along too well, were too complementary. It was impossible to act like strangers really, even if they were just that. Strangers. It was like they were already so well suited for each other in some way that it was utterly impossible to keep things at a real pace.
When they got there he released her from his arm and held the door open for her to go in ahead of him. Ladies first. Will decided he didn't have to say it out loud to her. For once in his life, he couldn't think of the right words.

Lexi was surprised at how easily they seemed to mesh. She didn't have to try very hard at all to convince him to keep moving, and she had a feeling he was every bit as reluctant to do so as she was. She soon found herself able to behave normally again and by the time they made it to the coffee shop, she was pretty sure she wasn't blushing at all. A tiny smile played on her lips as he opened the door for her. She knew how this worked. She also registered that he seemed to be a perfect gentleman, which wasn't something she'd ever dream of complaining about. Most of the time, anyway.
Shaking her head, Lexi tried hard to dismiss the thoughts of the ways she wouldn't want him to be gentlemanly. He was supposed to be a stranger even if she felt so close to him already. It wasn't that hard to figure out that she shouldn't have been thinking of him like that.
"I've never been here before," she confessed. "I don't even know what's good...." She was typically a fan of mochas and lattes, and she figured this place probably made them as well as anyone else would. Maybe she'd just have to try one of her usual favorites.

"I've been here before, its alright. Nothing to write home and mother about, but good enough." he said using the classic expression. but he doubted anyone said that anymore really. It was late on a weekday, so of course, no one was there really and they got right on line. He ordered a black coffee and pulled out his wallet to pay, he would pay for her as well. It seemed the right thing to do.
"What do you want Lexi?" He asked her with a smile, motioning to the register.
