Mia ran through the back enterance to Starbucks, gasping, totally out of breath. "I'm so sorry I am late! she said to her boss, her big pale eyes pleading with him. He frowned, telling her that late two days in a row was just not good enough. She ducked her head and took it, before running into a cubicle in the ladies to change from her leaotard and shorts into her uniform. Looking in the mirror, she pulled a face, and let her hair down. It fell past her shoulders in chesnut curls as she pulled the hairband around her wrist. There was no worry on her mind about make up; she barely wore anyway anyways. She tied her green apron around her waist, and after dumping her bag in her locker, quickly made her way into the main part of the cafe.
It was quiet today, with everyone who was sitting in there already drinking coffee, so she busied herself clearing the dirty cups from the empty tables. This was hardly the life she dreamed of.

Ivy wasn't a coffee person, she had never really been a coffee person. She liked hard liquor better than most things, that and a hot person to sleep with. She hadn't gotten to spend the night with Robbie, and she thought maybe she would go look for him. At least it was later in the day and she could eventually go to a bar and booze up. At a bar you never had to pretend that you weren't horny--which Ivy tended to be a lot of the time.
She wore a Tshirt and short jeans but gave up her search quickly. She'd just call him later. Ivy decided to go to Starbucks anyway and get an iced coffee, it was so hot outside and at least it's be cold. She marched up to the counter. "French Vanilla iced coffee please," She said glancing up.
Ivy would have sworn she had been wrong, this wasn't... was it? "Mia?"
ooc-- sorry it sorta sucks, i'm switching her from another site so i have to like re-learn how to be here a little =P lol

Mia sighed, dumping the dirty cups so another of Starbucks miserable employees could load them onto the dishwasher. She ran a hand through her hair, yawning. Her shift had another four hours left, with just a half hour break, and she was already tired. College classes and two jobs were difficult enough to hold down without having to share a dorm with the NOSIEST neighbours. She could quite honestly admit her life sucked. Every single last aspect of it.
Her eyes did not look up as the customer placed their order; they stayed down on the homework she had. Dance theroy. Another difficult task for her difficult day. "Uh-huh," she said in answer to the customer, before turning to begin making the beverage. Her mind was far off, dreaming of sleep or some time to relax, so she thought nothing of it when she heard her name. She turned, holding the drink in her hand. "Yeah.." As soon as she saw the person behind the counter, she froze. "Oh god." She dropped the coffee, and it smashed all over the floor in front of her. As quickly as it fell, she dived down to clean it, attempting to hide behind the counter. She could not let Ivy see her like this.

First problem, was that a good 'oh god' or a bad one? Second, could Ivy ignore the physical attraction they had. She'd never been one for dating--until these days. Third, what now?
She bit her lip lightly as her ex-girlfriend ducked behind the counter, unsure of what to do. And since when did Starbucks start using mugs instead of plastic. Oh well. "You okay?" She asked finally. Obviously her friend needed a pick me up, more thing. Doing homework over the counter, worrying about what Ivy would think--which was silly. The girl was still hot, and Ivy was a little superficial, so the girl's stress wasn't about to bother her.

Mia began wiping at the spilt liquid with the rag she pulled from her apron. Mia was never good with exes; she never knew how to act. The stress of life had ripped her away from any serious social situations, so to be thrown in the deep end and be confronted by an ex was difficult for her, even if her and Ivy ended on good(ish) terms. There was no such thing as ending on good terms to Mia.
Ivys voice came again, causing Mia to lift her head and bang it on the counter that loomed above her. "Bloody hell," she said through gritted teeth, rubbing the top of her head. She looked up at Ivy, giggling uncertainly. Ivy looked as beautiful as ever; Mia felt her throat go dry. "Er, yeah. I'll get you another coffee.." She got to her feet, injury free this time, and set about making another coffee.

Ivy felt bad that Mia was so skittish. Ivy couldn't exactly sympathize, she had always been a one night stand type, Mia was the closest she got to dating before right now with Robbie. Not to mention Ivory was a bit forceful and demanding, and in years past, back when she knew Mia, this whole spilling things would have royally pissed her off.
But Ivy was getting better.
"I'll pay you for both of them, sorry to, uh, inconvienince you." She said, just because it sounded like the right thing to say. Coffee wasn't really worth all this...

Mia continued making the coffee, her sleeves hastily rolled up, trying not to slip on the liquid she had just spilt. She had always been a bit ditzy; spilling and dropping things, constantly falling over. It was amazing how she could co-ordinate herself for dancing, yet failed when attempting any normal, day-day tasks.
"No, no, no," Mia said in reply to Ivys comment. She turned on the heel of her plain black pumps, her hair slightly tousled and her cheeks blushing pink. Her eyes glimpsed over at her boss, before back at Ivy. "Judging from the look he's giving me, it's coming out of my paycheck; don't worry about it." She sighed, shooting the manager a look of apology, before turning and taking the coffee in her hands.
"You're looking well," she shrugged, placing the beverage on the counter for her customer and ex girlfriend to take.

"No really, here," Ivory said, putting down enough money down or two coffees, to be fair. She was trying to be less of a bitch to people, and more selfless. Slow and steady progress. Ivy then picked up her drink and took a sip. There was no one in line behind her, so she could stay and talk.
"Thanks, I'm a model now, so I try," She laughed lightly, tossing her blonde waves over a shoulder. "You look like you need to sleep for a few days. Life rough?" Ivy asked. She could always read Mia pretty well, not many other people. Not even Robbie, but she was really in love with him, she just wouldn't, couldn't say it out loud.

Mia looked at the money on the counter nervously, glancing back over at her manager. "No, it's okay. He'll take it out of my paycheck if you pay or not," she sighed, pushing the money away. "Nasty bastard." She shook her head, brushing her hair behind her left ear as she did so. Her boss shook his head and turned away, making his way through to the back room. She hated it when he stood and watched her; she needed this job and she could not afford to lose it.
Mia smiled, her cheeks turning slightly paler and she blushed less. "I always said you could make it as a model," she said, though under her breath so she was not sure if Ivy heard or not. She stood on her tiptopes to look at the door; no new customers. This ment she could stand and talk which was a lot easier then this homework she could be doing. "Yeah, life isn't great at the moment," she sighed, wiping at her forehead, "Just a bit stressful. Nothing I can't handle."

"Aw, poor thing. Babe you need to rest, take a breather," Ivy said frankly, pushing up a pair of sunglasses on top of her life and adjusting her posture to stand there for a while. She sipped her iced coffee and looked purposefully at Mia.
"Or maybe you need to live it up a little so you can crash, sleep for hours and then get back into the swing of things."Ivy would have loved to take her clubbing, send her home to rest and then let the girl go on her way. that would probably help. Maybe. Point as, Mia needed something. When did she have time?

Mia placed her hands in the pocket of her apron, flicking her hair to rest on the other side of her face with a shake of her head. "I can't," she sighed, "There's too much going on.." What Ivy had suggested sounded too good for words, but Mia knew she did not have the time or energy. Her eyes fell to the textbook which still lay open on the counter. The words all merged together on the page to make it look more complicated then it really was. She cringed, rubbing at her eyes.
ooc;; major writers block, sorry!

ooc- me too
Ivy looked at her ex with a 'you got to be kidding me' look. "Come one, loosen up for once, you know, sluff it off, rejuvenate and then you can do everything better. If you just keeping working yourself into the ground its not going to get done well." Over work just made you sleep and your work began to suffer, people needed breaks.
Ivy knew she was right about this.
