Will caught the look on the bartender's face and its effect on Lexi. He almost felt bad. He knew she didn't mean it the way it sounded, and that in and of itself was pretty adorable. He finished his beer a little slower than she gulped down her drink--probably nervous.
"Sure." he said, knowing she must be anxious to get away from people who had over heard them. "In the interest of full disclousure. I'm fairly hopeless at dancing. I mean, i took ballroom as a kid. I can dance, but not at clubs." He could dance at a party where they played music that his parents might listen too, weather it was a real step or not. but here, he didn't have much to work with.

"And you think I can?" Lexi asked, laughing. "Ballet isn't exactly club friendly." She hadn't really thought about the very real possibility that they would both make utter fools of themselves. Lexi had simply wanted to get away from the people at the bar. "We could both look like losers together!" It sounded like a decent plan to her. In fact, if she was honest, Lexi would like nothing more than to look like a fool here with Will... Okay, that's a lie. She might like to look like she knew what she was doing... So long as Will was there, too.
The entire foundation of the dance Lexi was used to was grace and poise, so when the song began to play, she was completely baffled. There was no way to move to that beat and still be graceful and poised about it. Lexi looked at the girls around them, but most of them seemed to be trying to look trashy. This was certainly going to be interesting.

Will laughed and hook his head when the song came on. She seemed to look clueless. And Will wasn't really sure he could help much. He couldn't even figure out how to dance to this, he could work with other things, but this was beyond him. And he shook his head. "Do you wait for the next song? or do you wanna just leave?" he asked her. he wasn't so sure he wanted to stay, but where could they go? The park maybe? but junkies might hide there at night. Going to his place or hers seemed far too suggestive... he didn't know.

So much for dancing... Lexi laughed as she watched the people around them moving awkwardly to the music. "Do you just want to... walk around or something?" She didn't really want to be here, but she wasn't quite ready to give up her time with Will just yet. Lexi had no clue where they could go, but there wasn't anything wrong with just walking around. Provided they didn't stumble into any dark alleys or anything... New York was New York. It would never be perfect.
She didn't have to wait for an answer, really. She could see that Will wasn't sure he wanted to stay. Once again, she simply grabbed his hand and headed out the door, giving him not choice but to follow her. (Okay, so he really did have a choice, but she didn't figure he'd want to stay at the club without her.) Once they made it into open air, she heaved a sigh of relief and wrapped her arms around Will, hugging him and burying her face in his chest again. "You smell really good," she mumbled, her words half muffled by his chest.

"Yeah walking sounds good," Will said, letting her lead him outside. lead might not have been the right word because he walked alongside her, perfectly willing to go, and perfectly happy to be touching her. Even just holding her hand. The outside air was so fresh and clean compared to the stuffy smoke and sweat and booze of the club. Which was good atmosphere on occasion, but nothing beat the cool crisp city air. Except maybe country air, but he was never a country boy.
But then they stopped walking and she was hugging him, her face in his chest. Was he really so much taller than her? Somehow he liked that, made him feel like he could protect her. Even if she probably didn't need protecting. "Thanks..." He said. It obviously wasn't a bad thing to smell good, just a random observation.
He felt a few drops on his arms. it was about to rain. Dammit. They'd have to go there separate ways, her to her car to her home, and he'd run to his, might be faster than the subway, he didn't live that far.

She was caught up in the moment, a feat that wasn't difficult to achieve with Lexi, and she hardly realized she'd even commented about his scent out loud. A soft blush overtook her cheeks. He must have been used to her blushing by now. Her face still buried in his chest, Lexi let out a small groan as she felt a drop of rain fall on her arm. This wasn't fair!! She didn't want to leave him! Not that she wanted to suggest too much by going to either of their homes...
"I don't want to go home..." the words were out of her mouth before she could stop them and Lexi frowned, half wishing she could take them back. She sounded like a four year old. It wasn't that she had anything against being at home. She just didn't want to be away from Will just yet. "Can't we... go somewhere?" If it hadn't been for the unmistakeably innocent tone of her voice, that would have sounded suggestive. As it was, she was pretty clueless to the way it could have sounded and she knew that Will already knew her well enough to expect she wouldn't mean it that way.
ooc - sorry this took forever! and sorry it's short! work has been hell lately!

ooc- its okay bobbie <3 life happens, sorry work sucks so much
Will laughed lightly at her comment and he smiled softly. Would it be too much to say he lived nearby? Maybe... She was the innocent one, but for him to suggest it? Would she think he was trying to get something from her? that wasn't the case, not that he'd have minded if anything did happen between them.
But now it was pouring. "Well, I live very close to here." He said, glancing around, trying to see if he could find a place he recognized. He usually didn't hang around much here. He liked to be other places. The park for example, or running around doing his job.

ooc - thank you! i love you even more for understanding!!
She was almost overjoyed when Will mentioned living close by. It was, in fact, pouring, and her clothes were beginning to stick to her. Fortunately, pin straight hair came naturally to her so she didn't have to worry much about frizz, and she wasn't too concerned with the fact that her dress was sticking to her. Luckily, she'd chosen a darker color today, so he wouldn't be able to see anything.
Lacing her fingers securely through his, she grinned up at Will. "Lead the way, then," she told him. She had no issue with going to his place. After all, he wasn't exactly forcing himself on her, and she figured if he was that sort of guy, he'd have done it already. Not that she was utterly against the prospect... Actually, she really had no clue what she was doing. The naive virgin thing definitely wasn't an act.

Will smiled lightly and took off running down the street. he knew she could keep up, she was probably in better shape than him. Sure he worked out, but he wasn't an athlete, because dancing really should be considered a sport. It took so much work and effort. And they made it look easy.
His apartment building was just around the corner and he fumbled in his pocket for the key a moment before they got in. "I'm on the 1st floor." This was the ground floor, so that meant, one flight of stairs, thank goodness. Will lead the way, still holding her hand, it seemed so sweet, and he didn't want to let go.
Of course, bringing her to his house could seem and look so suggestive. He knew she was way to naive for that, she hadn't even thought of it probably.
Will unlocked the front door and let her in. The place hardly looked very personalized. the walls were white, but he'd been working since he got here, he never got around to painting it. It was slightly cluttered, but he lived alone and a little mess didn't bother him.

Without hesitation, Lexi let Will lead her to his apartment building. She was only too glad to duck into the ground floor and escape the rain. It took her a minute to even register the fact that he didn't live down here, but when she did, she grinned at the realization that they would only have to climb one flight of stairs. Not that she wasn't capable of climbing more. She was just rather impatient. She was aching for the comfortable feel of someone's home.
Admittedly, Will's apartment left a bit to be desired. He really hadn't done much to decorate the place. Then again, he was a guy. That meant he probably didn't spend too much time thinking about things like that. Besides, he probably worked most of the time. If that was the case, he wouldn't even be home to realize how bland the place was. Even if the place was a little uniform and a tad cluttered, Lexi had to admit she didn't mind being there. Besides, as long as Will was around, she didn't really have to worry about feeling out of place here. "You work a lot, don't you?" she mused, a soft smile on her face. It wasn't a bad thing and she hoped he wouldn't take offense. She was just making an observation.

"Unfortunately," Will laughed, running his fingers through his hair. Well, at least it smelled fresh, so many guys who lived alone had rooms that smelled like old food and stale sheets. "Sorry it's not more interesting." She was so colorful, it hardly seemed worthy of her being there, and it looked even more bland in comparassion to her.
One thing he did have, on the wall of his study was a huge white board covered in quotes and ideas for his stories, both for work and otherwise, along with lines of poetry he had written. His fridge was covered in word magnets too. It wasn't completely impersonal, just mostly. In the kitchen there was a cork board of pictures of home.
He realized they were both pretty wet, but she wouldn't have anything to change into if he threw things in the dryer.

The decision to come to Will's apartment had been a natural enough one to make. Now, though, Lexi was feeling a little unsure. What was she supposed to do now that she was here? They weren't ten years old anymore. It wasn't as if they could sit around playing board games or something. Well, they could. It just didn't seem quite right.
Biting her lower lip, Lexi turned hopeful eyes toward Will. "Is it okay if I sit down? I mean... I don't want to get anything wet..." Actually, now that she thought about it, she was kind of cold. What with all the rain, her dress was soaked and it didn't make for the most comfortable of situations. She wasn't about to ask if she could dry her clothes here, though. That would be awkward and would most likely end up either with her being naked or her wearing his clothes. She wouldn't have minded wearing his clothes at all, and was beginning to doubt if she'd mind being naked. Neither seemed an appropriate suggestion for her to make, though.

"Yeah, you can sit down. I'd offer to throw your clothes in the dryer and let you wear something of mine in the meantime, but I can't tell if that sounds weird or not." He answered quite honestly. It wasn't like he wanted to watch her undress or something. He wanted her to be comfortable. Will would have offered her a hair dryer if he had one.
Will wanted to change his clothes, but if she didn't want to wear dry clothes then to be fair, he figured he'd stay in his wet ones as well.

She'd just about resigned herself to the idea of wearing her wet clothes when Will mentioned something about letting her wear his clothes. It couldn't be that weird of an idea if they'd both been thinking about it, right? Grinning at him, Lexi took a small step, bringing them slightly closer together. "I don't mind if you don't mind... I just thought you might not like me wearing your clothes or something...." She neglected to mention that she'd also wondered if he'd mind her nudity in his apartment. She was almost afraid he'd agree that he didn't want that and, for once, the prospect of someone not wanting to see her nude body seemed like the worst thing in the world.
"I mean... It's kind of cold. And your clothes would dry faster if you had something to dry them with, so it's only logical, really..." Yes, she was nervous. If he couldn't tell by the hint of a blush on her cheeks, he'd be able to tell by her rambling. Lexi, of course, wasn't entirely sure what it was that had her feeling this way, but she knew it was the best kind of nervous she could remember feeling.

Will smiled kindly. "Okay, here, let me just change and find you something." he actually had his own dryer, which was a godsend really. Mostly for these types of moments. His washing machiene broke though, so he had to go to the laundromat for that still.
Will ducked into his room, throwing on a soft, slightly worn, gray T-shirt and a fresh pair of jeans and just another pair of descriptionless socks. Then he started to look for something she could wear. He found clean sweat pants with a drawstring, but she was so tiny... he hoped they'd stay up. And then he grabbed another T-shirt (this one was navy blue) and headed back out, his wet clothes over one arm.
"Here are some dry clothes for you, you can change in the bathroom and then I'll put our stuff in the dryer." He said with a smile, trying to keep things from feeling awkward. Or thinking about how she'd have to undress to put on his clothes. Or thinking about how their clothes would be tumbling together.
